Police arrest 2 dogs for attacking siblings in Lagos





The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two dogs for attacking three siblings and injuring one of them on the skull.

The police also arrested the owner of the dogs for allowing them to have uncontrolled freedom.
Our correspondent gathered that the dogs and their owner, identified simply as Jegede, were arrested by policemen from the Igando Police Station.
It was learnt that the three victims bitten by the rampaging dogs were children of Jegede’s tenant identified as Mr. Abraham Odia.

The incident occurred in the house both parties were staying at Adegboyega Street, Akesan, Igando, Lagos.

Jungle Justice: Alleged thief caught in Lagos



The person in the pic is just a suspected thief who allegedly tried to steal from a female across the tollgate axis by 7up road in Ikeja, Lagos. He was reportedly apprehended by passersby after the lady raised an alarm. Next thing was jungle justice as usual. He wasn't killed though

Photo: Man who died on the boat explosion in Lagos



 Emmanuel Onu (pictured above) was the only person who died in the Lagos boat explosion which happened on Friday August 15th. The boat, owned by Aquitien Oil and Gas, was said to have own taken off  from V-Craft Jetty in Lekki and was heading towards Apapa be­fore it exploded around Walter Carrington Way, trapping all 10 persons on board. 9 people was injured and taken fully to different hospitals in Lagos.

The Public Relations Of­ficer of the National Emer­gency Management Agen­cy (NEMA) said the boat engine exploded while it was trying to refill gasoline at Capital Oil Jetty at Victoria Island.

Ebola: Lagos Hospital which Treated Patrick Sawyer to get ₦4m

First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos State, where Nigeria’s first Ebola case was treated will receive N4 million from ANAP foundation. 


Nigeria's Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu’s spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh, in a statement said, the founder of the foundation, Atedo Peterside, informed the ministry that all private hospitals affected by the outbreak would receive N100, 000 per bed space. The statement said Mr. Peterside disclosed that First Consultant Hospital would be the first beneficiary of the foundation’s donation. The hospital will receive N4 million since it has 40 bed spaces.

Man r@pes 7 year-old woman in Lagos, injures her Private Parts.



The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a person called Julius for molesting a 7 year old girl,damaging her private and distorting her urination. 29-year-old Julius, who lived in a hired apartment on Obafalabi Street, Ojodu Berger section of Lagos, allegedly tricked the little girl into his room on the nights Saturday, July 26, and had illegal carnal knowledge of her.

Our source gathered that the victim, a primary one pupil, was the daughter of Julius's co-tenant. It  was further learnt that Julius, who hails from Benin, Edo State, wasn't married and lived in the apartment along with his mother.

Shocking: 23 year-old Lagos prophet ra*es woman during prayer session



A 23-year-old Celestial Church prophet, Adewale Adeleke, has been arrested for r*ping a church member during prayer a prayer session. He committed the act on July 26 at 6 pm at the premises of Original Inn Hotel, Ebute Meta.

The prophet allegedly approached his victim claiming to be spiritually informed about her problems and had solutions to them through a scheduled prayer session.
When the victim met him at the hotel on the scheduled appointment, he obtained her mobile phone and N13,000 as mobilization fees.

Ebola Update: 2 new instances confirmed in Lagos, GEJ summons disaster conference



The Federal government has confirmed two more cases of Ebola virus disease in Lagos. This brings to an overall total of 9 confirmed cases in Nigeria, seven contaminated with the illness and two dead. FG also said about 139 persons who've had direct or indirect connection with the confirmed cases are under surveillance. Meanwhile President Jonathan has summoned a crisis meeting at the State House Abuja over the virus outbreak in the country.

Two Security Guards Attacks Man With Machetes in Lagos





Two security guards in Frankazi Street, Bucknor-Ejigbo area of Lagos State, western Nigeria, Frank Olise and Emmanuel Olise, have been arrested and charged before a magistrate’s court sitting in Lagos, over an alleged machete attack on a resident of the area.
It was alleged that the suspects, who were yet to be paid their three months salary, accosted the victim, David James, one of the residents that employed them, and attacked him with machetes.

Police Officers’ Wives Thrown Out Of Jericho Barrack in Otto,Ijora , Lagos



The wives of police officers at Jericho Barracks in Otto, Ijora, Lagos State, western Nigeria, have been thrown out of their shops in the barracks because they could not afford to pay the required sum for the reallocation of the shops to them after reconstruction.

P.M.NEWS learnt that the shops were demolished on Tuesday in order to be reconstructed to an acceptable standard, but the affected wives have decried the way they were displaced from their shops.

Ex-Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah honoured in Lagos



Ex-Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah was recently honored with an award of excellence by Igbo association, Ndigbo Lagos. The award ceremony which took place at the Grand ball room of the Oriental Hotel in Lagos saw Stella Oduah and eight other men & women of Igbo extract honored for their service in their various fields of endeavors. When asked by journalists what the award meant to her, Ms Oduah said it was a confirmation that there's dignity in labor & called on all Nigerians to strive to ensure that Nigeria is properly developed
